At Mod and Tod we believe that children are the future and to protect the future, we need to keep the earth green. This is why we choose to manufacture our pieces using certified Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) organic cotton. We also believe its important to minimize the use of plastics and harmful chemicals, which is why our packaging is environmentally friendly and we use certified non-harmful dyes on our products. From our sustainable practices down to our eco-friendly packaging, we aim to contribute something positive to the world.
What is organic cotton?
Organic cotton is cotton grown using approved organic farming methods without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and insecticides. This results in a sustainable environment as it helps maintain soil fertility and harvests chemical free cotton.
Why choose organic cotton?
Since the production of organic cotton does not involve the use of harmful chemicals, it causes fewer allergies. Unlike organic cotton, conventionally grown cotton can contain chemical residue trapped in its threads, which can cause irritated skin, rashes, and even headaches and dizziness. The toxins and chemicals used to farm conventional cotton is known to be harmful to farmers and workers, us as consumers, and entire wildlife eco-systems.
Organic cotton has also been proven to reduce respiratory problems. It feels luxuriously soft and better on your skin even if you are not suffering from allergies or chemical sensitivities.
With our focus on quality, at Mod & Tod we choose only to work with organic cotton as it's lightweight and breathable. It's the ideal fibre for the tender, developing, and sensitive skin of your baby.
All our covers are made from certified Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) organic cotton and spandex (5%). The certification means we can guarantee our covers are organic and produced to GOTS norms.
Our fabric also holds the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification. That means our covers are free from harmful chemicals and dyes. Making it safe on your baby’s delicate skin.
