Who are we?

Hi! I’m Josephine, the founder of Mod and Tod and a mum of two gorgeous girls. We are based in New Zealand and call Dunedin our home. If you don’t see me on Mod and Tod, you'll find me running after my two girls or cooking up a storm in the kitchen. I’m a big foodie with a second stomach for dessert!

I created Mod and Tod because as a Mother, I understand how you always have to be prepared for everything. This meant having a diaper bag that was always filled with all sorts of stuff that are considered “baby essentials”. But there was never really a product that’s multi-functional, organic and fashionable at the same time. Because of this, I was inspired to bring our 5 in 1 Multi-Use Covers to you.

We are a Kiwi business that’s all about creating contemporary, beautiful and practical pieces for breastfeeding mums and babies. Each exceptional piece goes through a carefully thought out design process to ensure the pieces are modern and highly functional. I work closely with our manufacturing team to guarantee each piece is made to perfection.

At Mod and Tod we believe that children are the future and to protect the future, we need to keep the earth green. This is why we choose to manufacture our pieces using certified Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) organic cotton. We also believe its important to minimise the use of plastics and harmful chemicals, which is why our packaging is environmentally friendly and we use non-harmful dyes on our products. From our sustainable practices down to our eco-friendly packaging, we aim to contribute something positive to the world.

We are driven by innovation and contemporary design:

One of our main reasons for being is that we want to make life for new or expecting mums easy. I’m a mum myself and I know how stressful it can be trying to juggle multiple tasks especially when you have a new born baby. I wanted to create something that is versatile and takes the stress out of motherhood, but at the same time incorporating designs that look modern and contemporary. Coming from a fashion design background, I design each collection my-self because I want my customers to own something unique that can’t be found anywhere else.

What is a 5 in 1 Multi-Use Cover

Our unique 5 in 1 Multi-Use Covers does almost everything, minus the breastfeeding. That’s where you come in. Its’ primary use is a nursing cover that takes out the stress by providing full 360° of coverage when breastfeeding. Total privacy there ;)

But this versatile cover is not just for breastfeeding mums. Both mums and dads can use this as a capsule cover to protect baby from all the elements in any season and allows proper air circulation. Not to mention all those distractions around when your baby is asleep in the capsule.
